Thanks for reaching out. Here's everything you'll want to know about hosting your event at Dabney & Co. — the room, the food, the bar, and how it all comes together.

John Dabney mastered his craft in a world that wouldn't pay him for it. The glass he poured — his catering, his cocktails, his hospitality — bought his family's freedom. We carry his name as an ethic, not an ornament.
The service is the debt we keep.
Every space is reserved entirely for your group, with the full bar and Southern Contemporary Kitchen at the door. Available Saturdays and weeknights; Fridays are live-music nights, so on a Friday we bring the bar to your venue instead.
Every seat, every pour, every note — the entire venue is yours for corporate celebrations, milestones, and receptions.
A sectioned-off portion of the venue — semi-private, social, and just for you. Ideal for cocktail receptions, showers, and mixers.
Your group steps behind the bar to build two craft cocktails with our team.
We bring the bar to you across Southwest Michigan — details below.
Your minimum is a spend that applies in full toward your food & drink on the night — you're never paying extra, just spending it in the room. The deposit holds your date and comes off the total.
Hosting an open house or drop-in celebration? Your guest list can run larger than the seated count — for a come-and-go reception we keep an easy flow in the room and build your food around the full headcount, not just who's here at once.
Planning a small seated dinner of 6–8? Ask about The Diana Ross or The BB King — our two named private rooms, reserved directly like a table.
The minimum is only the floor. Here's how a real night actually adds up, all-in — a 40-guest company party that wanted the whole room to themselves.
“The cocktails were spot on, the playlist was perfect, and the food was delicious. The staff was professional and friendly — top-notch team. The vibe was intimate and cozy.”
“I love showing my family and friends this place — literally my favorite place ever. Best cocktails you can have, and they’re always so nice and friendly.”
Our Southern Contemporary Kitchen is built for sharing — black-eyed pea hummus, collard-green dip, spiced-maple chicken & cornbread, flatbreads, gourmet sandwiches, and salads, passed and stationed. Choose a package by the guest; naturally vegetarian-friendly.
Four passed selections — hummus, collard-green dip, cornbread bites, a flatbread. Cocktail-hour grazing.
Five selections plus a flatbread station — the crowd-pleaser for two-to-three hours.
Six selections, gourmet sandwiches cut for sharing, and a house side — hearty enough to be the meal.
By nine the room has found its rhythm — shaker tins keeping time, a drink with your name on it in every hand. The bar runs on an open consumption tab or a hosted package, your call. Then add the craft only Dabney brings:

In-venue events run Saturdays and weeknights. Fridays are our live-music nights — but we'll happily bring the bar to you off-site any Friday.

Give us your best estimate to start; we lock the final headcount 7 days before, and a card on file covers any night-of additions.
No — you commit to a food-and-drink minimum, and every dollar of it is spent on the night. The deposit simply holds your date.
